In October this year Christiaan Verweij started his bicycle trip to Central America to visit several communities who fight for direct democracy and a sustainable society. He took off in California to cycle all the way to Colombia, through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

As part of the independent media articles will be written for some Dutch newspapers, magazines and websites about the daily struggle of the people he will meet during this adventurous journey.

After a great trip through the United States, Mexico, Central America and Colombia I finished my trip on May 9th.
